COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT - Community Involvement is very important to us.

2nd ANNUAL CRITTERS AUCTION

This year, along on with the live auction scheduled for June 7, 2020 we are conducting an online auction of the 30 metal critters local artists have transformed into unique highly collectible pieces of art!  We have collaborated with several local businesses who

are co-sponsoring the event.  It is a win-win for all with 100% of the profits benefitting Bound For Success and our mission!

Online Auction runs through May 31, 2020.

ANNUAL TOY DRIVE

For the last 15 years, a group of women, Santa's Helpers,  have conducted a TOY DRIVE benefiting our clients' children and other families identified as in need at Placitas Elementary School.  A diverse group of women congregate at one of the 5 helper's homes and bring an unwrapped toy.  Good will, camaraderie, "reason for the season" and munchies are shared.  Every year, we have been able to distribute more than 100 toys!  Our clients chose the toys for their children based on their interest and age.   Last year, we included wrapping paper and bows to take an additional expense off our parents.  It is a fun, festive time and the recipients are most appreciative.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Children are our most precious resource.  We applaud and support the teachers, staff, administrators, who provide their learning environment.  We also realize that teachers/staff are underpaid and continue to use their own monies to supplement classroom learning materials.  As professionals, it is important for school staff to "dress for success" and create the professional tone for their daily interactions with students and parents.  Children learn from their role models, so we assist teachers in their efforts to dress accordingly.

During our BACK TO SCHOOL APPRECIATION EVENT in August, teachers/staff are invited to Nearly New to select item(s) up to $25 for FREE!  They can also register to WIN a large of bin of back to school supplies.  Over $75 of goodies.  (No purchase needed.)

We also offer MINI GRANTS of $250 - $500 dollars.  School employees only need to complete a questionnaire stating how they would use the funds.  After review amongst board members, one candidate is selected and the check is written!

Last year's recipient was Alexandra MacFarland - a veteran teacher of 25 years, currently teaching at Santo Domingo Elementary.  Her story was compelling and her commitment inspiring.

FOOD DRIVES

Holidays are the perfect time to offer great deals to our customers who bring in a canned food item for those less fortunate.  One canned food item will get you any ONE FREE item under $10.  We conduct informal food drives throughout the year.  Items collected are distributed to those agencies who provide food to families in the greater Sandoval area.
