"First you must recognize that there is a problem. Then you must believe there is a solution."

"On behalf of the Albuquerque Community Foundation, I am pleased to inform you that BOUND FOR SUCCESS, INC.'s proposal to the ACF Competitive Grant Program has been approved for funding.  Grants in the field of health and human services provide support for direct services to people in need and for the promotion of health and well-being.  BFS received funding for support of Nearly New boutique providing clothing for women and families in transition from welfare/home/school to work."

"The services provided by BOUND FOR SUCCESS, INC, operating NEARLY NEW - A REPEAT BOUTIQUE, are excellent.  This type of business has been sorely needed in this community and is truly welcome.  As a mentor for clients in the GOLD Senior Mentor Group in Sandoval County, I am proud to applaud Nearly New and its staff for the help and caring attitudes when they meet my clients to help them choose clothing for their workplaces.  I am happy to report that all of my clients have found jobs and several of them wore "NEARLY NEW" outfits to their interviews and were hired on the spot!  They were all very excited and appreciative to Nearly New for their generosity.  They expressed, to me, that the employees (of Nearly New) made them feel respected and they in turn felt good about themselves, giving them more determination to do well in their interviews and strive to do their best if they were hired!"

"I wanted to write this letter to let you know how very appreciative I am for the avenue of success you have opened for my clients.  As you know, TANF recipients do not have the extra money they need for almost anything.  However, when they want to interview for a job that could change their future, they do need the proper clothing to wear.
Over a dozen of my students who have obtained employment, have taken advantage of your wonderful agency.  Your staff has helped them to select what looks good on them, enhancing their appearance at interviews.  The clients have stated how very good they feel about their self esteem because they look good.  Your agency has made it possible for them to grasp success when applying for employment."

"May I take this time to thank you for the positive influence you have given to these people's lives.  I hope your agency is available for as long as there are those on welfare who need help to improve their chances for success."

"This is an extraordinary idea!  Your service brought a sense of hope to my clients.  Job well done!"

ALBUQUERQUE, the MAGAZINE, December 2017, Galen Billings

"Our 13th Annual Awards Edition of 2017 Best of the City, recognized 25 people who have given back to the community.  Partnering with local nonprofits, they've volunteered....to lend a helping hand."

What does nearly two centuries of giving back look like?  How many people could you help?  We talked to individuals from 25 nonprofits - homegrown organizations and local branches of national groups.    As volunteers or long standing staffers, these exceptional people have collectively tallied more than 175 yeas of involvement giving of themselves and doing good work at every level of our community.

Peggy Koontz in her day to day work at Nearly New Repeat Boutique runs the front, sorts through donations and coordinates with other nonprofits.  She also helps three to four referrals every day, helping them select nice clothes, accessories and a smile. She is , according to Bound For Success's Executive Director, "The anchor that keeps the whole place together."

Nearly New, as a storefront for Bound For Success, Inc, provides donated high quality clothes to women in transition and to victims of domestic abuse. Koontz is always there to make sure that everyone who comes through the door feels special. "Everyone has a story and they all touch your heart."  In her almost two decades of working for the nonprofit, Koontz' favorite thing continues to be the people she sees.  " It is really rewarding to be able to help and we've helped thousands.  And let's be honest, it's fun to be able to give away free clothing to those in need. I'm lucky to be here. "
